The Rose Valley walk is the obviously first choice of a hike, if you’re planning to visit the Open Air Museum in the same day.
About two kilometres up the road from the museum ( and I do mean, UP the road), you’ll come across a camping ground on your left.
Just after the entrance is the beginning of the Rose Valley walk. The path splits in several directions but they all meet up eventually, and if you’re heading down hill, you know you’re on the right track.
The walk takes you down the hill and along river beds and little paths, through the deep pink valley. After an hour or so it spits you out near Çavuşin. There, you can enjoy lunch and climb to the wind-swept castle before heading up the road to check out the peculiar mushroom-shaped pinnacles.
